Why is it when I pick up a cell phone I can dial ten digits 360-555-1212 for example and the call will connect regardless of the call being local or long distance. However when I make a long distance phone call from a land line and forget to dial the "1"... I get the annoying tone and voice telling me that I "must first dial a 1 when calling the number"..... We are the Greatest Nation on Gods Green Earth and our technologies are second to none. If the the phone companies computer is smart enough to know I am not making a local phone call..... Can't the computer just, CONNECT THE DARN PHONE CALL ANYWAYS!
